SIPEUROPE

At ZEO Homes, our commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient building solutions is reinforced through our collaboration with SIPEUROPE, a leading supplier of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). Their innovative SE-SIP construction system has become integral to our projects, enabling us to deliver high-performance homes to our clients.

About SIPEUROPE

SIPEUROPE, based in Nitra, Slovakia, was founded in 2013 as SIPDOM s.r.o. and rebranded in 2018 to SIPEUROPE s.r.o., with its building system named SE-SIP. The company quickly grew in domestic and international markets, thanks to its unique product, a skilled engineering team, and advanced BIM-compatible technologies. That same year, SIPEUROPE Group was formed, including SIPEUROPE NL in the Netherlands (Benelux countries) and SIP-Scandinavia Element Bygg AS in Norway (Scandinavia), expanding their reach across Europe.

SIPEUROPE is a leading expert in the design, production, and supply of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and advanced construction systems. Their innovative SE-SIP construction system represents the next generation of timber structures, offering unmatched construction speed, versatility, high strength, and exceptional thermal insulation properties. This makes it a highly efficient choice for constructing net-zero energy and passive buildings.

SE-SIP Technology

The core of SIP Europe’s construction system is the sandwich panel, consisting of two 15mm OSB TOP 4 boards and an insulating core of expanded flame-retardant EPS polystyrene, NEOPOR graphite polystyrene, or PIR. This configuration results in panels with excellent thermal insulation, low bulk density, and high structural rigidity. Available in various thicknesses, these panels are versatile and suitable for floors, perimeter walls, partition walls, and roofs.

In addition to panels, the SE-SIP construction system makes use of certified KVH and BSH structural timber in strength class C24 or GL24h, wooden bonded I-joists or CLT panels. Their quantity and dimension depend on individual static assessments of buildings.

Main Benefits of SE-SIP Construction System

The SE-SIP construction system offers numerous benefits, making it a superior choice for modern, sustainable homes:

   •       Cost Savings: Buildings typically consume 40–50% of their energy for heating and cooling. The superior thermal insulation can reduce heat loss and lower energy costs by up to 50% compared to traditional brick constructions.

   •       Construction Speed: Construction is significantly faster than traditional brick methods, which rely on time-consuming wet construction techniques. As a dry process, the construction can be completed efficiently at any time of year.

   •       Healthier Living: The airtight construction is perfect for modern ventilation systems, reducing energy costs while improving indoor air quality. Heat recovery units ensure a constant supply of fresh air without heat loss, preventing mold growth and minimizing allergens.

   •       High Strength: Once the panel is constructed, the building system behaves like a monolithic shell, offering up to five times greater static parameters than a conventional timber frame construction.

   •       More Usable Space: Buildings made of SE-SIP panels provide 7-10% more usable area than conventional brick buildings.

   •       Stable Insulation: The insulating core remains strong and stable for decades, resisting moisture, sagging, and installation issues common in conventional frame constructions.

   •       Certified System: Holder of the European Technical Assessment ETA 18/0312, with manufacturing regularly inspected by certified professionals. It comes with a 50-year certified warranty.

   •       Environmental Benefits: Classified as a wooden structure, the overall process of manufacturing, construction as well as the possibility of recycling materials significantly reduce CO2 production.

The Journey of Our Wood

The OSB 4 quality boards are supplied to SIPEUROPE from 2 main producers – EGGER and AGEpan.

EGGER a leading global manufacturer of wood-based materials based in St. Johann, Tyrol, Austria. Since 1961, EGGER has been a pioneer in sustainable innovation, contributing to a greener future. They are a complete supplier of materials for furniture production, interior design, wood construction, and flooring, with 22 production plants worldwide and over 11,000 employees.

As a family-owned business, EGGER prioritizes sustainability, ensuring their products are responsibly sourced and recyclable, promoting a circular economy.

Sustainability is at the core of EGGER’s mission and has been a fundamental part of the company’s DNA. Today, EGGER operates on the principle of closed-loop systems, ensuring that wood, as a precious resource, is given multiple lifecycles.

The company prioritizes sustainable practices across all areas of its business, taking equal responsibility for economic, ecological, and social impacts. Thanks to its commitment to continuous innovation and transparency, it systematically applies these principles across all its global operations.

AGEpan, known for its high-quality, eco-friendly wood-based construction products. AGEpan DWD boards, for example, offer excellent moisture resistance and structural stability, making them ideal for modern wooden buildings.

Together, EGGER and AGEpan contribute to the exceptional performance, sustainability, and durability of SE-SIP construction systems, aligning with the mission of ZEO Homes to build environmentally friendly, energy-efficient homes.

SIPEUROPE uses only the most advanced and sustainable wood processing techniques to craft our eco-friendly and high-performance homes. The construction process integrates both BSH (Brettschichtholz), known as glued laminated timber (glulam), and KVS (Kreuzverleimtes Holz), also referred to as cross-laminated timber (CLT), ensuring exceptional strength and durability in every build.

• Glulam (BSH) is ideal for creating robust structural elements, such as beams and columns. With its high load-bearing capacity, it enables long-span constructions without additional support.

• CLT (KVS) is perfect for walls, floors, and roofs, thanks to its dimensional stability, excellent insulation, and fire resistance.

Together, these materials not only deliver superior structural performance but also reinforce our commitment to environmentally conscious construction. By utilizing renewable resources, we create homes that are both aesthetic and sustainable.

Commitment to Quality and Sustainability

SIPEUROPE’s dedication to quality is evident in their controlled factory production processes, ensuring each panel meets rigorous standards. They focus on environmental aspects, such as reducing CO2 production through the use of recyclable materials.

At ZEO Homes, our mission is to prioritize working with local suppliers who adhere to environmentally responsible practices and provide the highest quality materials.

We look forward to continuing this collaboration as we strive to set new benchmarks in sustainable, passive construction.
